We are on a mission to supply every soldier from the state of Texas with a helmet liner
to take with them on their deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq. The need for our
mission is great. These wonderful, fast to make, yet oh so usefull little items, do much
to give our soldiers comfort. The wool helps keep them warm and dry as well as helps to
keep the sand out of their noses and mouths. Our goal is to collect 5,500 liners. Please
join us in our cause! We have included both the knit and crochet patterns below. The
patterns will show you everything you need to make your helmet liner. Bring or mail the
completed liners to the shop as soon as you have them. Different units will deploy at
different times, so we will be handing them over to the military in groups. We hope to
have a minimum of 200 liners by mid May. We delivered 400 liners Sept. 6, 2009 to
troops that deployed the next week.
